Tell us the cable, not the part number
A code copied off an old docket is worth less than the cable it went on. Describe the cable; the code falls out of it.
Six lines, and the reply is a kit code
Write them in this order. Whatever you leave out is what comes back instead of an answer.
- Insulation and construction. XLPE, PVC, EPR or PILC. Extruded cable routes to GXS and GXSS, paper to GPS, one of each to a GTJ.
- Core count. GXS/1236 is the three-core kit, GXSS/1236 the single-core one. Separate families, not two options on an order line.
- Conductor size in sq mm, or AWG and kcmil if that is how the drum is marked. The bands are wide: GXSS-11 to GXSS-35 spans 16 to 1000 sq mm, and GXLT-1 to GXLT-15 runs from 4x1.5–6 up to 4x185–400 sq mm.
- System voltage, with Umax. The class moves the size band, not just the label. GPS-21 to GPS-24 covers 25 to 500 sq mm at 24 kV; GPS-31 to GPS-34 covers 35 to 400 sq mm at 36 kV.
- Armoured or unarmoured, and lead-sheathed if it is paper. Armour decides the continuity parts: worm drive clamps, tinned copper braid, and an earthing plumb on lead.
- The operation and the count. Straight, transition or branch, and how many joints. Count joints, not cable ends. One kit makes one complete joint.
Name the operation, because it picks the family
- Straight-through
- Same construction both sides. GXLT and GPLT hold 1.1 and 3.3 kV; above that it splits by core count, GXS/1236 for three-core extruded cable and GXSS/1236 for single, with GPS for screened paper. Which one fits.
- Transition
- Two constructions meeting. A GTJ matches paper insulation, lead sheath and steel armour on one side to XLPE, semi-conducting screen and copper screen on the other. Say which side is which. GTJ/1112 and GTJ/2436.
- Branch
- A tee off a run. Different job, different parts count. Branch and tee joints.
Where the message goes
Kit Sheet publishes; it sells nothing and holds no stock. Gala Thermo Shrink Pvt. Ltd. manufactures every kit named here, and the code you get back is theirs.

The landlines ring on IST, UTC+5:30, and that clock does not move in summer. Export orders run through appointed agents, distributors, utilities and OEMs in over 100 countries, so name the destination country. A second office sits at Monterrey in Mexico. The manufacturer's joint kit range and contact page carry the same details.
No source for that
Four things nothing behind this site answers. Office hours against the Mumbai numbers: not published, so a call is a guess at IST. Price, lead time, minimum order and stock: not held here in any form. "cable joint kit price" is a real search and this page leaves it unanswered. Shelf life of a pre-expanded kit sat in a store, and how many hours a jointer needs for one joint: no document states either. All of it fits in one reply from the manufacturer.
Four lines beat four emails
"3-core XLPE, 240 sq mm, 11 kV on a 12 kV class, armoured, straight joint, 6 off" comes back as a code. "Need a cable joint kit" comes back as the six questions above.
